چکیده
The prevalent problems associated with heavy metal contamination of the environment particularly underground and surface wastewater compel need to work on economical means mitigating accumulation metals in by espousing biosorption option. choice this regard is hinged overall cost control process its relative effective outcome compared other diminishing environment. Thus, potential Garden Egg (Solanum melongena) Leaf (GEL) remove Cd(II), Pb(II) Zn(II) from aqueous solutions through was studied. influence various parameters such as pH, contact time, biomass dose initial ion concentration investigated using batch experiments determine efficiency biosorbent. presence ionizable functional groups (-N-H,-C≡N, C=O –C-O) GEL were analyzed Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) which are responsible for binding cations. heat sorption estimated Temkin Isothermal model mean free energy Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) model. revealed that best pH adsorption at 7. kinetic studies showed represented pseudo-second order kinetics having highest correlation coefficient (R2) 0.9398, 0.9339 0.9398 respectively, among models tested. Equilibrium data better Freundlich isotherm Langmuir, Freundlich, Dubinin–Radushkevich (D–R) absorption isotherms. appeared have regression coefficients four study effect dosage significantly affected uptake ions solution. Thermodynamically, each endothermic spontaneity being Zn > Pb Cd. However, positive change entropy observed disorder Cd Pb. results indicate egg leaf has a Cd(ll), Pb(ll) Zn(ll) could be found useful treatment industrial effluents. Background and purpose: Recently, release of pollutants such as heavy metal ions to the environment becomes one of the most important problems for soil and water. The present study was conducted to introduce modified rice husk (RH) as a new low-cost adsorbent. Materials and Methods: In this study, tartaric acid modified RH (TARH), was used as an adsorbent for removal of Ni(II) and Cd(II) from w...

Background & Aims of the Study: The increasing levels of toxic heavy metals discharged into the environment have received considerable attention due to the adverse effects on receiving waters. Therefore, the developed adsorbent was assessed for its practical role in removal of metal ions from industrial wastewater. The purpose of the present work is to investigate the removal of Ni(II) an...
متن کاملRemoval of Cd(II), Zn(II) and Pb(II) from aqueous solutions by brown marine macro algae: kinetic modelling.
Specific marine macro algae species abundant at the Portuguese coast (Laminaria hyperborea, Bifurcaria bifurcata, Sargassum muticum and Fucus spiralis) were shown to be effective for removing toxic metals (Cd(II), Zn(II) and Pb(II)) from aqueous solutions. The initial metal concentrations in solution were about 75-100 mg L(-1). The observed biosorption capacities for cadmium, zinc and lead ions...
متن کاملKinetic and equilibrium studies of biosorption of Pb(II) and Cd(II) from aqueous solution by macrofungus (Amanita rubescens) biomass.
The biosorption characteristics of Pb(II) and Cd(II) ions from aqueous solution using the macrofungus (Amanita rubescens) biomass were investigated as a function of pH, biomass dosage, contact time, and temperature. Langmuir, Freundlich and Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) models were applied to describe the biosorption isotherm of the metal ions by A. rubescens biomass. Langmuir model fitted the equ...
